We got a letter sent home today from Riley's school, she was tested by the Gifted and Talented facilitator using the BRI (Basic Reading Inventory) and she scored at a 3rd grade level...we are SO proud of her! The woman will now meet with Riley a few days a week to enrich her reading skills. Riley's updated ELA test scores also came back, and they are near perfect. The best part of it all is how much she loves school and LOVES reading!

We took Camdyn into the doctor yesterday, for her cold. Turns out she has an ear infection and a sinus infection...poor baby girl! She is the best when it comes to taking medicine, the girl loves the stuff!

Riley never ceases to amaze me. This past summer she taught herself how to read and now she journals almost everyday. She absolutely LOVES reading and writing and we're so proud of her. She even writes short stories in her journal, which are a hoot to read. Her writing is improving all the time. I can't believe she's only in Kindergarten.
Camdyn is little miss personality, my God that kid is a riot. You know the old saying, "Where there's a will, there's a way."...well, that's her to a T. Nothing stops her, if she's after something, she will find a way to get it. She's busy, busy, busy and she certainly keeps us on our toes. She's in the middle of a lovely stage of screaming "No!", hitting, and spitting, so she's no stranger to timeouts. She's also quite good at yelling, "Sorry!" instantly after doing something naughty...as if that makes it all better. lol

Camdyn had her 2 year-old well child appointment today with Dr. Hanson. She is up to 31 lbs (92%) and 37.5 in (100%). She got her flu booster and her Hep A shot today and she also had her lead level drawn. She didn't cry at all, just whined and said, "That hurt." She was a complete maniac in the room while we were waiting for the doctor to come in, but once she came in, Camdyn was perfect!

Today was our 3rd annual trip to Bahl's Pumpkin Patch. The weather was in the 50's, so a bit chilly---we had fun nonetheless!
The kids went in a huge SpongeBob bounce house, they went down slides, a hay maze, a corn maze, a big box filled with corn to play in. There were rope swings into huge piles of hay, pony rides, a petting zoo, and a tractor ride. Each of the kids picked out a pumpkin, and we grabbed some hot chocolate and cotton candy to go. I've uploaded all the pictures to Cooper's website---take a look at all the fun! :)Comments:Add a comment:

Today was Riley's first day of Kindergarten. She was so excited (and nervous) this morning, she could hardly contain herself!! She did much better than I did...I was a damn mess after she left with her class.
It's about 90 degrees out right now, lucky for her, her classroom is air conditioned! I can't wait for her to get home so I can hear all about her first day!!

Today was Camdyn's 18 month check up with Julie Olberding ARNP. She weighs 27 lbs, 7.5 oz and she is 35" tall. Her head circ was 47cm. She had her DTap and Hepatitis A shots today and she was a complete trooper---didn't cry for the first and only whined during the second. Julie said she could hear a small heart murmur and they will continue to watch that, but aside from that she's doing just perfectly!!

Tonight was Riley's first softball game. Her team name is the Zingers and Riley was a little disappointed when she found out they were teal and purple, rather than pink. Imagine that! Her league is Kindergarten through 2nd grade, so she's one of the youngest on her team. She did really well and only spaced off through half the game. :P
